My First Labyrinth Walk!

Labyrinths have been around for a long, long time. You can find loads of information about the history of labyrinths on the internet, but, what I would like to do is share my very first experience walking the labyrinth, with you.

Ed and I finally took a long, very much needed vacation. Our journey led us to a totally spiritual connection to the Universe on a walk through a Labyrinth, to which we had been directed to by Elizabeth (BJ) of RealmShift Center in Alex Bay, N.Y. We walked our very first Labyrinth walk together and although my true impatient self came through loud and clear, much was gained from this walk. I displayed my impatience when I did not trust that the Labyrinth had a clear path that would take us to the middle of the Labyrinth. Instead, I succumbed to the idea that I had made a mistake and crossed over, not following the clear path, only to discover that I was wrong and had I followed the path, I would have found my way to the middle.

My 'stated' intention on this very first walk was to get in touch with my heart and my third eye. During my walk, when I closed my eyes I saw very clearly a red circle that faded only to be replaced by one that was light purple. This "light" show lasted throughout my walk, whenever I closed my eyes. Purple is the colour that represents the second Chakra, our third eye, and red, I assumed, was symbolic of my heart. That, however, was not the defining moment of our walk. The defining moment came after.

Following our walk we found the beginnings of a stone creation that BJ had told us about and we decided to sit quietly amongst the carefully placed stones. During this I chose to share with Ed my experience and my heart opened like it had not been open for a long, long time. I saw clearly the impatient person that I had become (remember me crossing over) and awakened to the fact that this hurts those who are close to me, deeply. I softly expressed my remorse to my husband, who in fact had been the recipient of most of this impatience, and I vowed to him that I was going to work very hard on removing this impatientness from my heart and life.

It has been almost two weeks since that promise and I can honestly say that it has been much easier than I thought possible for me to be patient. I know I will be tested over and over again in the years to come, but I believe that I had such a powerful spiritual connection with the Universe during our Labyrinth walk, and my desire to be patient will conquer whatever it was that was causing me to be impatient.

Have you ever "intended" to change, intensify, or improve your spirituality? Find and walk a Labyrinth with or without an intention and experience it for yourself. A book that was referred to me BJ is "The Way of the Labyrinth, A Powerful Meditation for Everyday Life" by Helen Curry. I am still in the process of reading this and enjoying the read.

I know there is a Labyrinth at High Park in Toronto and I think there might be one at the R.V.H. in Barrie and possibly one at Sunnidale Park. I will update this when I find one in Barrie for those who would like to experience a Labyrinth walk of their own. While I am far from being an expert on Labyrinths, I really wanted to share my experience with you.

Note: I would like to thank BJ of Realmshift and Kelly Curry who altruistically gave their time to speak with me!

God's Butterfly

All the Oceans in the Universe could not quench her unconditional Love,
Because she was God’s heavenly butterfly descending from his throne above.

There was days when dark clouds dissolved into sparkling sapphire morning lights,
Just like her life was as an exotic butterfly transforming from a cocoon to an Angel in flight.

Her heart bled compassion as a flowing river of faith seeking its path through a desert of affliction,
Like a Caterpillar in an oriental rose garden waiting on her God designed transition.

As we all sit with hurting hearts in silent devotion,
Our thought of her is like a cool summer breeze serenading gentle butterflies into a galaxy of motion.

Who can hear snowflakes falling like soft love songs fading away into the moonlit background?
The tranquility of peace blankets the heavenly flower bed when God’s butterfly finally comes around.

Her presence was like a fresh scent of fragrance of love,
Squeezed from juicy red rose petals by the Divine fingers of God above.

Whistling winds rippling across pristine lakes like the Red Sea,
Arise for the home going of my friend the Butterfly that God has set Free.

Parenting Reflections: To Parents & Grandparents Alike.

"The most important 'nutrients' our children need are unconditional love, acceptance, and validation. The daily grind of getting out of the house on time, finishing up homework, and getting to bed at a decent hour, can put us in a place of giving conditional love, rejection, and invalidation. It is at this point that we have lost everything!"

"Overwhelming amounts of stress can cause confused and distorted thinking. When in a state of heightened stress, our perception of events is viewed from a place of self-protection where all of our resources are spent on calming our own internal state of discomfort. In this state, we are closed to relationships and are prone to show blaming and controlling behaviors, thus creating more fear within ourselves and within the environment in which we live."

"Controlling actions only teach controlling lessons."

Contentment is the same as Peace.
"Even though my situation is not what I want it to be, I am content"

Profound Passages!

"To really see a person find out what has shaped their mind."

"One's first step in wisdom is to question everything - and one's last is to come to terms with everything"

“Health is the greatest possession. Contentment is the greatest treasure. Confidence is the greatest friend. Non-being is the greatest joy.”

My Angel is Gabriel!

"Strength of God"; "The Divine is my strength"; "God is my strength" The only Archangel depicted as female in art and literature, Gabriel is known as the "messenger" Angel. She is a powerful and strong Archangel, and those who call upon her will find themselves pushed into action that leads to beneficial results. Gabriel helps hopeful parents with conception or through the process of adopting a child. Gabriel is helping to open your third eye if it's closed and your spiritual vision is therefore blocked. If you wish to receive visions of Angelic guidance regarding the direction you are going in. If you wish to receive prophecies of the changes ahead. If you need help in interpreting your dreams and vision. Gabriel helps anyone whose life purpose involves the arts or communication. She acts as a coach, inspiring and motivating artists, journalist and communicators and helping them to overcome fear and procrastination. Gabriel also helps us to find our true calling. Ask for Gabriel's guidance if you have strayed from your soul's pathway, if you wish to understand your life plan and purpose. She can also help if you can find no reason for being or if changes are ahead and you need guidance. Gabriel is helping your body if it's full of toxins and needs purifying and if your thoughts are impure or negative and need clearing and cleansing. Gabriel is also very helpful for women who have been raped or sexually assaulted and feel dirty as well as being under psychic attack or if you feel that you have absorbed someone else's problems. Brings message that our sexuality is connected not only with body but also with soul. Is a sacred gift. Teaches that you have a holy law to detach from people that bring negative energy to you by saying NO.

Teaching with Love

While physical and sexual abuse to children can be proven through physical examination, there is one type of abuse that goes completely unnoticed and yet is far more harmful to our children than any other type of abuse. That is EMOTIONAL ABUSE. Children who suffer through emotional abuse do have signs, however, most of us to not recognize what those signs are.

I have made a promise to T.E.A.C.H. THROUGH LOVE and would ask all of the parents AND grandparents out there to go to this web site and learn how you can TEACH THROUGH LOVE, as well. And, please share this information with all of your friends, asking them to join in the plea to STOP EMOTIONAL ABUSE!

Make that promise to yourself, but mostly to your children so that they may grow up healthy, realizing their full potential, and live in an environment that is safe.

Safe from any kind of abuse!

My Life as a Grandma!

Life has it's way of running full circle and I should have known that being a Grandma would be just as much fun as being a Mom. Perhaps a little more because you don't have the same type of responsibility that was there when you were bringing up your own babies.

I have the most amazing Grandchildren. They are bright, beautiful - starting with their hearts. Most of all they really love their Grandma (me)!

I have 6 Grandchildren; Cody, Brayden, Travis, Tacoma, Jacob, and Aubrey. They are named in order of their ages and not their importance because each and every one of them are equally important to me. As well, they have their own uniqueness. Their own way of learning, their own way of letting me know they love me. Did I tell you that I feel truly blessed?

New Posting: I attended Cody's birthday party on Saturday. It is the first time I have seen all of them in a month. It was so nice to see their faces light up and call 'Grandma', knowing that they miss me as much as I miss them. Aubrey was a little serious at first but had no problem coming to me. We walked around a bit together and I chased her, which she loves, and gave each other hugs and kisses and shared time with Grandpa. Cody loved his gifts (not that the shoes were any great surprise, he picked them out, but that's what Grandma's & Grandpa's are for!). Brayden seemed a little closed which concerns me greatly, but all I can do is say prayers that he will be okay. Jacob wanted to sit on my lap, sit beside me, and got me to put things away in my purse and keep them for the "next time he is at my home".

It was so great to see them all again. I love them so much!

Music & Me !

Elvis was my idol from the age of 7. His death was a tragedy to me and yet I felt that it was his Karma. Peace from the crowds that he loved yet feared. Peace from the prescription drugs that were invading his body.

His music endured all things, especially time! Still today Elvis' clean spirit is among us and for many of us that is comforting.

Some believe that once we die our spirits float through the universe and return only when we are ready.

Adam Lambert is the essense of Elvis. Perhaps Elvis' spirit gets the chance to be once more.

Adam Lambert is pure music, pure honesty, and pure goodness. I believe great things will come from his Life; some already have.

Life Goals

To discover the purpose of life and to evolve with the creativity I was born with.

To make a difference in the lives of the people I touch, especially children.

To touch the lives of the people I meet with kindness and acceptance.

To inspire and motivate the people I meet to reach for their hightest potential.

To ignore negativity when it is present and to move away from the expectations of others.

To live my life according to my own convictions without hurting anyone along the way.

To understand that not everyone has had the same experiences as I have and to respect everyone for where they are in their lives.

To forgive easily, especially myself, and move away from holding on to anger and hurt.

Set goals for yourself and live by them. Remember IF YOU DON'T STAND FOR SOMETHING, YOU'LL FALL FOR ANYTHING.
